３月２１日に、シドニー大学の入試・留学生担当スタッフ（日本担当）が本校を訪問し、IBコースを含むオーストラリア留学を希望、もしくは興味·関心のある生徒及び保護者に対して説明を行いました。シドニー大学はオーストラリアの最古の大学で、160 年以上の歴史と伝統を持つGroup of Eight の代表格でもあり、世界大学ランク１９位、世界就職力ランキング４位の名門校です。シドニー市街中心地から徒歩圏にあるキャンパスにはネオゴシック形式の中庭や回廊など歴史的建造物が多く、伝統と格式を感じさせる雰囲気。ビジネスや薬学、看護学や人文科学分野などが特に世界でも評価されており、多くのオーストラリア首相やノーベル賞受賞者を輩出しています。

担当者からはシドニーを選ぶ理由、そしてシドニー大学の魅力をたっぷりとプレゼンが行われ、歴史のある伝統校でありながら、学術研究の分野ばかりでなく、オーストラリアでも数少ないダブルメジャー制度の採用などにより、エンプロイアビリティにつながる教育を行っていることもPRされました。
更に、シドニー大学に入学するための条件、そして奨学金制度などが具体的に説明をされました。

【Overseas Study】Visit from the University of Sydney

On March 21st, a representative from the Admissions and International Student Department of the University of Sydney (in charge of Japan) visited our school to provide explanations to students and parents who are interested in or aspire to study in Australia, including the IB course. The University of Sydney is Australia's oldest university and a member of the Group of Eight, with over 160 years of history and tradition. It ranks 19th in the Qs World University Rankings and 4th in the World Employability Rankings. Its campus, located within walking distance from the central area of Sydney, features many historical buildings such as neo-Gothic courtyards and corridors, creating an atmosphere of tradition and prestige. Particularly, disciplines such as business, pharmacy, nursing, and liberal arts are highly esteemed worldwide, producing numerous Australian prime ministers and Nobel laureates.

The representative elaborated on the reasons for choosing Sydney, as well as the charm of the University of Sydney. She emphasized that despite being a prestigious traditional institution, the university provides education that leads to employability, not only in academic research but also through the adoption of the double major system, which is rare in Australia. Furthermore, concrete explanations were provided regarding the conditions for admission to the University of Sydney and scholarship programs.
