International Baccalaureate Course
A broad, world-encompassing perspective and respect for others that nurtures a global min
The International Baccalaureate course is a three-year high school program for students who seek to challenge themselves academically, mentally, and ethically.
In the first year, students prepare for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program while studying the subjects required for a Japanese high school diploma, and in the second and third years, students take courses in the IB Diploma Program. In these courses, students take six subjects: language and literature (native language), language acquisition (foreign language), personal and social studies, mathematics, science, and the arts, as well as IBDP-specific specialized subjects called the core. Through these courses, students will gain a wide range of knowledge and experience that will help them grow as learners and as human beings.
About the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Program is an advanced, well-balanced, world-class curriculum.
The IB Diploma Program (DP) is an internationally recognized International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) that is awarded to students who complete the prescribed curriculum for two years and achieve the required grades in the final examinations. Students will not only acquire knowledge in each field of study, but also deepen their learning through inquiry-based learning in which students themselves are actively engaged in their studies through activities that foster critical thinking and the ability to synthesize existing knowledge with new knowledge.
In the IBDP, students take three core curriculum areas (TOK, CAS, and EE) in addition to subjects classified into six groups, where they conduct their own inquiry-based learning.

IB Learner Profile
The "IB Learner Profile" is the embodiment of what it means to be internationally minded. The 10 traits of learners shown here are the human qualities that IB accredited schools value, and they are exactly the kind of person that is sought after in a global society. In the IB course at Osaka International High School, not only the students but also the teachers will continue to evolve and grow together toward this goal.

A message from a current student
You can become a more internationally-minded person with exposure to new perspectives
I attended an international school in Japan, but went on to high school in Osaka International's IB course because it offered both a Japanese high school diploma and an IBDP certificate in English. This course is filled with students from various backgrounds, including returnees, students who studied English on their own at a Japanese junior high school, and students who came from the internal Osaka International Junior High School. This is probably one of the reasons why my classmates appreciate each other's individuality, and sometimes I am reminded, "there is such a way of thinking". We are divided into groups to write reports and give presentations in many classes, and although we sometimes have heated discussions, we have a great time together every day. The teachers are also very friendly and helpful, and if you have any questions, they are always willing to help you until you find a solution. I would like to study hard here and develop an international perspective, and in the future, I would like to work abroad in the medical field.
