9月17日に、大阪公立大学の事務局、入試広報担当の方が本校にご来校、IBコース生（１～３年生）に対して「国際バカロレア特別選抜」の説明をいただく機会を得ました。
大阪公立大学は前身の大阪市立大学と大阪府立大学が統合されて日本の国公立大学の中で３番目の規模を誇る公立総合大学として２０２２年に開学しました。
公立大学で人気NO.１で本校からも今春は２０名の卒業生が進学をしています。
そのような本校からの多くの入学者の評価と、大阪府で唯一の英語によるIBディプロマコースを有する高校であることを背景に、今回の説明会に至りました。
大学より「総合知で越えていく大学。」としての学びの特長である専攻プログラムや、海外留学・国際交流制度、キャリアサポート、更には大阪府独自の授業料支援制度等についてその魅力が説明されました。
そして、大阪公立大学の「国際バカロレア特別選抜」についての詳しい説明の中で、入試の対象となる３学部の特徴、また出願の要件、過去の入試状況等についてお話をいただきました。
説明終了後のＱ＆Aセッションでは多くの生徒の手が挙がり、入試について、海外留学について、入学後のコース選択、IＢ入試の今後の方向性などについて理解を深める事が出来ました。
大学側からは「交換留学制度は英語IBコースで学び、英語力のある皆さんだからこそ、是非、海外に行って学んできて欲しい」という熱いメッセージもいただき、IBコース生にとっては、自らの進路をより具体的に考え、そして勇気づけられる機会になりました。

[Domestic University International Baccalaureate (IB) Special Selection Entrance Exam] Osaka Metropolitan University Visits Our School
On September 17, staff from Osaka Metropolitan University’s admissions and public relations department visited our school and provided an explanation of the "International Baccalaureate Special Selection" to IB course students (1st to 3rd grade students).
Osaka Metropolitan University was established in 2022 as a public university with the third-largest scale among Japan's national and public universities, following the merger of Osaka City University and Osaka Prefecture University. It is the No.1 most popular public university, and 20 graduates from our school entered the university this spring.
The good reputation of our graduates enrolling in this university, along with the fact that our school offers the only English IB Diploma Program in Osaka Prefecture, led to this explanatory session.
During the session, the university explained the appeal of its unique learning programs as a "university that transcends with integrated knowledge," including major programs, study abroad and international exchange systems, career support, and Osaka Prefecture's original tuition support system.
Additionally, a detailed explanation was given about the "International Baccalaureate Special Selection" at Osaka Metropolitan University, covering the characteristics of the three faculties eligible for the exam, application requirements, and past admission trends.
In the Q&A session following the presentation, many students raised their hands, and they were able to deepen their understanding of the admissions process, study abroad opportunities, course selection after enrollment, and the future direction of the IB admissions process.
The university also conveyed a strong message to the IB course students, stating, "Since you have studied in the English IB course and possess English skills, we strongly encourage you to study abroad and gain experience overseas."
For IB course students, this session provided an opportunity to think more concretely about their future paths and was a source of encouragement.
