The Pre-IB class (1-I) went to Hiroshima on Wednesday,
December 14 for a Student Cooperative Study and Pre-CAS Field Trip.
We went by Shinkansen, and it was a fun but full day. We even had a little snow fall on us!
去る12月14日（水）、Pre-IB クラス(1年I組）が協同学習とPre-CAS校外学習のため、広島へ行きました。丸一日の充実した楽しい旅でした。広島ではなんと雪も降っていました！
First, we went to AICJ Junior & Senior High School to learn and get advice from the 11th grade IB2 students there. After we arrived, we could watch Math AA and Math AI classes. They seemed both challenging and very interesting. Then, we had an exchange and advice session in the library. After a CAS presentation and school introductions from both schools’ students, we had a very informative discussion in small groups about CAS, TOK, EE, and IB study. Finally, all the students could eat lunch together. We were happy to get a lot of good information, and even make some new friends!
まずはじめに、AICJ中学校高等学校を訪ね、高校2年IB2の生徒さんたちと交流しました。また数学AAと数学AIの授業を見学させていただきました。授業は両方良いチャレンジでとても面白い授業でした。その後、図書館での両校の生徒間の交流会が行われ、IBの学びについての実践的なアドバイスをいただきました。両校のCASの発表と学校紹介からはじまり、CAS、TOK、EE、IBの学びについて、非常に有益なディスカッションを行うことができました。
そして最後に、生徒たちはいっしょに昼食をとりました。有益な情報だけでなく、みんな新しい友達を作ることができ、充実した楽しい時間を過ごしました。
Next, we took the train and the streetcar to the Peace Memorial Park. Upon arrival, we took in the solemn atmosphere at the Atomic Bomb Dome. Then, we walked over to the Children’s Peace Monument, where we presented the origami cranes we had worked on. We next strolled down to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, where we saw the effects of the terrible tragedy of the atomic bombing.
次に、電車と市電に揺られ、広島平和記念公園へと向かいました。到着するや否や、原爆ドームを見上げ、その荘厳な雰囲気に触れました。そして、原爆の子の像へと歩き、そこでみんなで折った折り鶴を献上し、黙とうしました。広島平和記念資料館では、原爆投下の恐ろしい様子を目の当たりにしました。
We made our way back to Hiroshima Station by streetcar, and finished our day off with some souvenir shopping and dinner. It was a fantastic and educational trip. We were not only able to gain a lot of insight into and advice for what is approaching as we begin our IB studies, but also to think more deeply about the need for world peace.
その後、市電に乗り広島駅に戻り、おみやげを買い夕食を食べ、充実した一日を終えました。非常に有意義な校外学習になったと思います。
IBでの学習活動の見通しや、何を留意していけばよいのか、多くのアドバイスをいただくことができ、世界平和の必要性についても考えを深めることができました。
